The Jazz Rock!

Santa was nice enough to bring Jazz tickets to Jake for Christmas. We went the day after Christmas, on the 26th, to the Jazz vs. Dallas game. It was a close game but we won by 9 points at the end. I had so much fun screaming and jumping, I think I might have gotten into the game a little bit more than Jake.
Afterwards we stayed downtown at the Little America. We had so much fun and some much needed alone time.

I got a new camera for Christmas. We were sitting in the upper bowl and I was able to get this close up of the floor with it. I love Santa for giving it to me, oh and Jake too.

Jake and I in our seats ready for the game to start.

This kinda shows how high up we were but it still was a pretty good view.
I wish you could see that I am wearing a Kyle Korver #26 jersey. I am a true fan!

and of course, I had to add a picture of my favorite player on the team. For those of you who don't know I have a mini crush on Kyle Korver.

Christmas Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed being with your families. Jake and I had a real good Christmas with our family this year. It was filled with laughter, hugs and kisses, oh and lots of yummy food!

First thing in the morning Jake and I opened presents with each other then went to Jake's mom's house to open presents with his siblings at 8 am.
Jake and his little brother Nick. Doesn't Jake look good in the new shirt I gave him!

Abbey and Angie (Jake's sisters) ready to open presents

Angie gave Abbey a pineapple. I guess it's really funny if you watch the TV Show, Psych

Dan gave me a ski helmet so that I don't die when I go out this year. I make a pretty cool ski bum!

Nick got a helmet too. We are so stoked to go out on the slopes!

Angie and I got matching hooded sweaters. We are so hot, we could totally be blood sisters

After opening presents at Dianne's we went to my mom's house for lunch and presents

Every Christmas at my moms we keep up with our English heritage and have poppers. inside are paper crowns and little games/toys. This year I got this awesome mustache!

Jake and I having a little too much fun. It's Christmas!!!

Mom had the prefect lunch for us. Pulled BBQ Beef sandwiches, Greenbeen Casserole, Fries, and cookies for dessert

Bennett enjoying his lunch. We love Grandma Christy!!

We Got A New Car!

We finally got a car. For those of you that don't know already, I totaled our 2003 orange Honda Element EX a week ago. Since then we have been looking for a car. Today we bought an 04 blue Honda Element EX. We are very happy, plus we were able to get it for way cheaper than our previous car so our payments are amamzing. We are so happy! Oh, it also has a DVD player. SCORE!

'Discovery' Christmas Program

OK so I have to say that I have the world's worst camera so all these pictures are fuzzy, blurry, and out of focus. Hopefully Santa will bring me a new camera this year. (hint-hint Jake!)

This year was my nephew Bennett's first year attending 'Discovery Preschool', which happens to be the same school that I attended. Since the snow was so bad today I canceled work and walked, conveniently across the street, to Bennett's Christmas Program. It was so adorable! Bennett's class was dressed as peppermint sticks. I didn't think I would be emotional but as soon as those sweet children started singing the floods came. I was so proud of Bennett. Near the end he got tired and resorted to sticking his hand in his mouth instead of singing, that seems like something I would have done, haha. These children have such a sweet spirit, I can't wait to have my own children and have experiences like this with them.

I love this shy look Bennett has while looking at his parents

So this was a random face I caught while trying to keep my camera in focus. He is so stink'n cute!

He did most of the actions and got really into the songs. I love my nephew so much!
P.S. after this my camera died

Accident Update

Today marks one week from my accident. Since then I've been trying to take it easy, but today is my real big day working all day and night. My neck and back still hurt pretty bad but it is slowly getting better. If anyone knows a good masseuse please let me know! The main task now is trying to find a car. Cars aren't really selling so dealers don't have much of a stock to chose from. We were hoping to get an other Honda Element but with our options it looks pretty bleak. Thanks for all your prayers and support. I know it has made me recover faster! And please let me know if you know of any good deals on any newer Sport Utility with low miles and no damage. Thanks Again and Happy Holidays. I love you all!!

I Crashed the Element!!!!

I wish I had gotten a last picture of our car before it got towed away but it's true, I totaled the Honda Element yesterday. I am so glad that I am still alive. I was on I-215 southbound on the east bench just past 45th south when my car hydroplaned. (Monday morning it was wet and snowing really bad!) I spun 6 or 7 times then my car flipped on the drivers side and skidded to a stop on the left hand side of the rode. I knew I was close to the free way wall so I was preparing my self to be completely crushed! Luckily the car stopped before hitting the wall. It took a while to finally climb out of the passenger side door but once I did I was so happy to be alive. 4-5 people were there just to help pull me out of my car. At the time I could tell that my knee hurt and I had a headache but nothing else seemed to be wrong. Boy was I wrong!, I woke up this morning unable to hardly move my neck. I now have shooting pains down my neck to both of my shoulder blades. After being on multiple anti-inflammatories and pain relievers I am still in a lot of pain. I will be going to the Dr. tomorrow to see if anything is wrong with me. But again I am just so happy I am alive and that I didn't hit anyone else. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father. I know that he was watching over me!
This is what my beautiful car used to look like before the crash. Now it is a mangled pile of medal and rubber. Oh I am really going to miss it!!!

Cold Turkey Run

Before my trip to Escalante on Thanksgiving morning I ran a 4 mile race called the Cold Turkey Run up City Creek with my mom, my brother Scooter, and his wife Jayme. Scott pushed their two kids, Bennett and Carter, in a running stroller. It was so fun! Scott and Jayme do this run every year and I am so happy they invited me. They wore their traditional turkey hats and it was pretty funny to see random people want to take pictures with them.
I looked like I came straight out of the 80's with my baggy sweater, high cut shirt, short shorts, and tights. Oh the price I pay to stay warm.

I always do this pose before a race, cause I'm going to be number one! haha not really. But I did finish the 4 miles in 35 mins flat. I was hoping to make it under 40 mins. So I was pleasantly surprised! I am totally ready to do it again next yr. and try and beat my time.

Thanksgiving Weekend in Escalante

For Thanksgiving Weekend Jeff (Jake's Dad). Took us to Escalante for some hiking and fun! We had a really good time except for Angie's car breaking down on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere, but even that was an adventure!
Our first hike was lower calf creek falls. I've done it before but never in the fall. It was very beautiful and very cold!

Jake and his brothers Dan and Nick

The next day we went to Devil's Garden and climbed around. That was so fun!! After that was when poor Angie's Nissan Extera broke down on the way to "Hole in the Rock". But we still had fun hanging out together at our B&B after Jeff towed Angie's car with his Jeep Wrangler. I have a new found appreciation for a Jeep.

Jake helping me up.

I made it!

I'm posing for the camera while Jake helped Nick up

This little cave was fun to crawl up into. BTW the girls are laughing so hard cause Dan kick a bunch of rocks down onto Angie and it freaked us out!
the next Male Charlie's Angels
I think this picture is cute. It looks like Jake is watching over us so we don't fall
Hanging OutJake and the boys Jumping. I know it's weird but we were laughing pretty hard! Look at their faces! It's classic.

I deciding to join in the fun

who says white guys can't jump

Angie had to ride home with the Tow Truck driver along with Dan. What an adventure. We still don't know what is wrong with her car. Good Luck Angie! Love you!
